The 2nd International Conference on Construction and Building Research has been organized by the School of Building Engineering of the Universitat Politècnica de València and will be held in Valencia, Spain, from the 14th to the 16th of November 2012. It is a development of the first edition, held in Madrid (Spain) in 2009 and supported by all the School of Building Engineering in Spain. Its main objective is to respond to the growing demand for research, development and innovation in the building sector.
The field of knowledge associated with the building sector is quite complex, and therefore its research must show an interdisciplinary approach. This can only be effectively developed from a strong interaction between a large variety of scientific and technological domains with more conventional construction or craft processes, and also considering advanced management processes, where all the main actors permanently interact. Main fields will be Materials and construction systems, Building Technology, Energy and Sustainability, Heritage, rehabilitation and maintenance and Building Construction Management. Areas such as urban planning, real estate, new building construction, restoration of architectonical heritage, building materials or systems and maintenance of buildings amongst others, have been and must remain industrial and economical development sectors, simultaneously energizing research, development and innovation in this field. Target groups include both researchers and practitioners related to construction and building activities from the academic sphere, as well as public and private sectors. This forum will establish stable links between business, production and academic sectors in order to create a wide research environment in which the process of knowledge generation and its transfer is effective. The aim is a new open and plural forum, whose mission is to help develop and consolidate the management of research, development and innovation in the building sector. We hope that this Conference might be of potential interest for you and we would like to encourage you, and your co-workers, to participate, submitting your contribution. We are looking forward to see you in Valencia! The Organizing Committee |
